As an avid glugger of 7-Eleven coffee, I was shocked to my very core when a video from Frisbee & Co content creator Tommy Jackett popped up on my LinkedIn feed revealing a damming secret about the convenience giants. I know, LinkedIn is not usually the place for such scandal.

Getting ‘coffee clever’ with 7-Eleven is a caffeine-addicts get-out-of-jail-free card when it comes to budgeting. “You’ve gotta give up that daily coffee”, they say. NOT WHEN IT’S THIS CHEAP YOU DON’T!

Anyway, there we are us coffee clever clued up kids guzzling our $2 (or maybe $3 on a really sleepy day) coffees thinking we’re totally cheating the system.

UNTIL…

We discover that ALL THE COFFEE SIZES ARE BASICALLY THE SAME.

Yep. The $3 coffee fits in the $2 cup, And the $2 coffee very very nearly fits in the $1 cup. Those crafty buggers.

What this does mean though is that we, The Broke Generation of avocado-scoffing millennials that we are, can go forth and stick to the $1 cups, knowing we’re getting the absolute best buzz-for-buck when it comes to caffeine content.

Extra hack from me: get a $1 cup, press ‘short black’ for TWO espresso shots, and top up with water. Or a third espresso shot if your feeling particularly frisky.
